Working on this game was hard as it was my first released VR game. I had done game development for about 1.5 years and VR development for 3 months but wanted to actually release a game so I started a new VR project. Although the game is not very good I'm still glad I worked on it as it taught me a lot about releasing a game and more about VR development.
One of the main problems for this game was the holsters! The holsters took a lot of time to make sure that they moved up and down with your body but not your head and that they rotate when you move your head or rotate the player. I was also able to make the player choose where to place induvial holsters to allow for more customization for the users. I also had to learn about optimized lighting and making sure the game was hard enough that it was fun but not hard that it was annoying. I also learned about creating tutorials for my game so that new players can learn how to play the game without getting jump scared. This also taught me a lot about the differences between playing a VR game in Unity vs Standalone as the input and hardware and different and you have to learn to make them work on both platforms.
